Is There a Reunion of the Loved Ones after Death?

Introduction

Most people do not like to think about death or talk about it. Everyone wants to live forever even though we know that physical death is part of our life cycle.

From humans’ point of view

No man on earth knows what happens beyond the grave.
We know this much: When a person dies his or her physical body is either buried or cremated. The ashes then become part of the dust of the earth as God said to Adam, “By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return.” Beyond that, as human beings we have no knowledge about what happens beyond the grave.
Most people, who believe in a purely materialistic world, think that there is no life after death.
Therefore from a human point of view no one knows whether will there be a reunion of our loved ones after death, or will there be any life at all.

From God’s point of view

However, from God’s point of view according to what is written in the Holy Bible we believe that there is life after death. Death is not the end. Death is only a crossroads branching out to two destinations. Before we reach that junction we should have decided the destination we want to go. The only Person who knows what happens beyond the grave is our Creator God. Now What does He say about it?
When I examined the Christians’ Holy Bible I discovered the following from Luke 16:19–23, where Jesus the Son of God said,
“There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.”

  • “The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side.” (to Heaven)
  • “The rich man also died and was buried. In Hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side.”

This gives us an idea about life after death of two different persons. This also tells us that death is not the end. After death our souls will either be taken to Heaven or to Hell depending on what kind of life we lived here on earth.

What is heaven like and who will be there?

Heaven is a wonderful place. In the book of Revelation 21:11-22:6, the Apostle John wrote what he saw in the vision, “It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal. It had a great, high wall with twelve gates, and with twelve angels at the gates. On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel. There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the south and three on the west. The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
“The angel who talked with me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city, its gates and its walls. The city was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide. He measured the city with the rod and found it to be 12,000 stadia in length, and as wide and high as it is long. He measured its wall and it was 144 cubits thick, by man’s measurement, which the angel was using. The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass. The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, the fifth sardonyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst. 21The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of pure gold, like transparent glass.
“I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there. The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it. Nothing impure will not ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
Therefore, all those who believed in Jesus will be reunited in heaven worshipping the One and only Creator God.

What is hell like and who else will be there?

Revelation 20:10 says,
“And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night forever and ever.”
And in Luke 16:23-31, (Jesus continued saying), “In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’
“But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember
that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’

  • The rich man pleads for his brothers from Hell. “He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my father’s house, for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’
  • This is not a telltale story so please, do not brush it off.

“Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’
” ‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’
“He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’”

There is neither Reunion nor Celebration in Hell.

Think of it. It is an awe-full place for us to end up finally. I beg you, please, turn away from that awful place and come to Jesus with all your loved ones.
Perhaps you may be asking, how could I make sure that I and my household will go to heaven when the life here on earth is over?

Finally how to be reunited with our loved ones after death?

If that is your desire, it is important that everyone in your family must individually receive Jesus Christ as his or her Savior and Lord including your self. So begin with your self: Receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior first. Then tell all your family and friends to do the same without further delay, because we do not know when each of us will breathe our last breath. We are only one breath away from our final destiny.
You may be asking, how to receive Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord?
